The Dragon who Wanted to Grow Up to Marry a Prince
- This is Jenny. Jenny isn’t like other Dragons.
- All the other Dragons in her family are scary, or greedy or stern, but not Jenny.
- Jenny doesn’t dream of trapping princesses in castles and keeping them from their prince, she
- Jenny doesn’t want to trap a princess, she want’s to be a princess.
- Jenny’s dad says that’s not what dragons are supposed to do, but Jenny wants to so so bad, so she steals her dad’s spell book and bam-!
- She turns herself into a princess!
- Very happy with her new form she enjoys the looks from the people at the in the village…
- …and from the castle guards…
- …and from the king and queen themselves!
- They’re so shocked by her beauty they’re speechless.
- But the prince isn’t, he points right at Jenny and shouts - “You’re a dragon!”
- Horrified that her plan failed Jenny runs away to deep dark forest to cry until it gets dark.
- But then she hears the a noise on the trail - it’s the prince, he’s come to find her!
- “I’m sorry for scaring you,” he says as he hands her a handkerchief. “I’ve always wanted to meet a dragon, so I got a bit excited.”
- Jenny hesitantly takes the handkerchief and wipes her tears away. “You really wanted to meet someone like me?”
- “Of course! I even planned on becoming a knight so I could travel around the world and scary dragons and greedy dragons, and stern ones.”
- Jenny laughs and tells him, “You don’t have to travel the world for that! You just have to come for tea.”
- So the prince follows Jenny home, and they have a nice meal, and when it’s time to leave they make a promise to meet again and again and again.
- Jenny isn’t like other Dragons. All the other Dragon’s in her family are scary, or greedy or stern, but not Jenny.
- Jenny is friends with royalty, she attends balls and gets to fly in the parade.
